THE SITE
POPLAR FARM, NAILSEA
North Somerset Council’s emerging Local Plan identifies Nailsea as an area that could accommodate future housing growth. This site sits outside of the Green Belt, is well served by local facilities and lies immediately adjacent to the defined western edge of Nailsea.
North Somerset has proposed the allocation of our site (above) in its “Regulation 19” version of the Local Plan. Whilst the Local Plan is still in draft stages the proposals it contains are supported by a substantial body of evidence which demonstrate the site is capable of being developed for housing. In response to the Council’s emerging Plan, Crest Nicholson is currently in the in the process of working up an outline planning application for up to 130 new homes, together with providing significant public open spaces for new and existing residents and a bus loop. Over half the site would be natural open space for public use, with play areas, walking trails and new wildlife habitats.
